He is survived by: his parents, Mary Van Dyne and Osmun Skinner; his grandfather Henry Van Dyne; his son Justin; his siblings, Catchy McDowell of Ann Arbor, MI, Douglas Skinner of White Oak, PA and Stephen Skinner of Troy, PA.; and also, Angela Madonia and Bronwyn Sing.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the Barre Historical Society, VPIRG, or the Vermont ACLU.
