Lance C. DeMatteis Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lance C. DeMatteis (Burlington, Vermont), who passed away on January 1, 2025 at the age of 65. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Clement Matteis; his father-in-law Raymond Ploof; and his siblings-in-law, David Ploof and Karen Ploof. He is survived by: his wife Susan DeMatteis (Susie); his children, Jordan DeMatteis (Hannah) of Colchester and Katelyn Goad (Zack) of Utica; his mother LaVina Gay De Matteis of Shorewood, Illinois; his brother Scott De Matteis (Kelli) of Plainfield; his nephews, Dominic, Jack and Vincent; his mother-in-law Lois Bissonette of Burlington; and his brothers-in-law, Peter Ploof of Burlington and Gary Ploof of Port Charlotte, Florida.. He is also survived by cousins in Illinois as well as extended family.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ready Funeral & Cremation Services South Chapel (261 Shelburne Rd, Burlington, VT 05401). A Mass was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (416 Church Rd, Colchester, VT 05446).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lance's name to the American Cancer Society.
