It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Schumpf (Burlington, Vermont), who passed away on December 10, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Bluto and May Bluto (Blow); her husband Edward; and her siblings, Cyril, Justin, Firmin, Richard, Eugene and Marion.
She is survived by: her son Douglas Schumpf; her sister Shirley Boivin Hebert (William Boivin); her children, Michael and Arica Whitehouse; and her caregiver Callie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ready Funeral & Cremation Services South Chapel (261 Shelburne Rd, Burlington, VT 05401). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Mark Church (1251 North Ave, Burlington, VT 05408). A burial was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Lakeview Cemetery (455 North Ave, Burlington, VT 05401).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the McClure Miller Respite House, Colchester, Vermont.
