He was predeceased by: his parents, Agnes Gallagher and John Gallagher. He is survived by: his sister Marykate; his grandchildren, John, Cara and Stevie; his brother Luke; his grandson Liam; his wife Betsy Skypeck of Ferrisburgh; his children, Cara Gallagher (Derrick LaMarche) of Randolph and Luke Gallagher of Burlington; and his sisters, Maura Callanan (Michael) of Daniel Island, Kate Gallagher of Williston, Colleen Ritter (Scott) of Franklin Lakes and Erin Campbell (Kevin) of North Haledon.
