He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest W. Gilbert and Cordelia Gilbert (Cyr); and his siblings, Roberta Lacroix, Mae Riley (Joseph), Ernest (Buddy) and Lee Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret (Peg); his children, Christopher, Jeffrey, Catherine (Suzi), Bailey (Tyler Audette) and Stephanie Martin (Stephen); his grandchildren, Jon Gilbert (Melissa), Joseph Gilbert, Margaret Satink (Maggie), James Gilbert, Emily Martin, Giovanni Costantini and Cameron Martin; his great grandchild Caleb Gilbert; his brother Lloyd Gilbert; and his in-laws, Donald Lacroix and Nancy Gilbert. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Ready Funeral Home (261 Shelburne Rd, Burlington, VT 05401). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Marks Catholic Church (1251 North Ave, Burlington, VT 05408). A burial will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery (76 Plattsburg Ave, Burlington, VT 05408).
