He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold R. Macdonald and Hazel B. Macdonald; and his sister Jane Nam. He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Julia (Caroline); his wife Caroline Hensel; his children, Karen Lee Smith of Venice Beach, CA and Duncan R. Macdonald (Julia S. Macdonald); his grandsons, Patrick and Andrew of South Burlington; his daughter Erica M. Burke (Thomas Burke); and his grandchildren, Camden and Taylor of Boulder, CO.
