We are sad to announce that on September 3, 2021, at the age of 96, Ruth Alice Sherman Lathrop of Bristol, Vermont, born in Ferrisburg, Vermont passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Hollis Sherman and Helen Sherman (Weisenbach); her spouse Claire C. Lathrop; her children, Carolyn Besaw of Las Vegas, NV, Betty Taylor of Bath, ME, Patricia Utley (Gayl) of St. Albans, VT, James (Claire S.) of Rogersville, TN and Thomas C. (Pamela) of Bristol; her brother George Sherman of Bristol; her grandchildren, Tammy Besaw Denton, Brian Besaw, Daphne Taylor Williamson, Robin Taylor Almquist, Ellen Utley Olson, Sara Utley, Jason Lathrop, Justin Lathrop, Thomas W. Lathrop, Suzannah Costin and Timothy Peter Lathrop; and her stepgrandchildren, Morgan and Andrew Verriotto. She was also cherished by 20 great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many cousins.
