He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace E. Mattison and Effie Belle Mattison (Cross); his wife Dorothy (Montgomery); his daughter-in-law Claudia Mattison; his grandchildren, Brett LaCroix and Gwendolyn Mattison; his great great grandchild Jasper Strain-McCormick; his siblings, Howard, William, Clyde, Lawrence and Barbara Crawford; and his close friend Margaret Crawford.
He is survived by: his children, Stephen Mattison (Sally) of Aurora, CO, Gary Mattison (Marylou Nicholsen), Cynthia Carpenter (Robert), Jeffrey Mattison (Tami), Lisa LaCroix (Gerald) of Bennington and Connie Lawton (Dean) of South Burlington; and his siblings, Wallace L Mattison and Susanne Saunders of Bennington. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
