He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Mears and Florence Mears (Ward); his daughter Pam Mears; his granddaughter Heather Sprague; and his sisters, Frances Blake and Lois Weaver.
He is survived by: his significant other Shirley Mears (McCoy); his daughter Darlene; his son-in-law Steve Gallant of Pownal; his son Clyde Jr.; his daughter-in-law Sharon Mears of Bennington; his son Steven; his daughter-in-law Robin Mears of Montpelier; his siblings, Lila McCoy of Florida and Milo Mears (Mary Jean Bratcher) of Bennington; his grandchildren, Melissa (Jason Lavery), Travis Mears (Travis Stock), Cody Mears (Pauline Stevens), Jason, Sophia Gallant, Stephanie (Jimmy Kimball), Allyson (Curt Healey), Matt (Tanh Mears) and Lauren (Mike Ball); his great grandchildren, Jacob, Logan, Shania, Hunter, Sarah, Samantha, Amelia, Quinn, Brett, Wade, Sydney and Cameron; and his friend Marc Bottesi. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
