He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Mahar and Olga Mahar (Kelson). He is survived by: his wife Marilyn C. Mahar of Bennington; his children, Kelley McCarthy of Bennington, John A. Mahar of Bennington, Kimalie A. Wassick (Donny) of Bennington, Kristin C. Mahar (Keith) of Bennington and Kate K. Mahar (Bill) of Bennington; his grandchildren, D. J. Wassick, Ali Wassick (Carson), David, Brendan McCarthy, Alex Mahar, Jhonny Curran (Kyle), Grace Mahar, Matt (Monique), Chad Pulver (Katie), Emalie, Jack and Ben Bushee; his great grandchildren, Basil, Hawkins Thurber, Olive and Rhodes Curran; and his siblings-in-law, Jack Carmody (Miriam), Mickey Carmody (Joan), T. J. Carmody (Sue), Patty McKeon (Mark) and Kathy Robertson (Neal). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
