It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mathew Owen Safford of Barre, Vermont, who passed away on January 22, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hollis Elton and Marion Ruth Safford (McKnight); his wife Judy; his brother-in-law Bob Spaulding; and his parents-in-law, Jeanette and John Hooker.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kristina "Krisi" Safford (John Merrifield) and Karen Safford (Lori Shepard); his siblings, David Safford (Sandy), Connie Spaulding, Karl Safford (Dale) and Vicki Safford; his siblings-in-law, Jackie Swartz (Don) and John Hooker (Cindy); and his nieces and nephews, Jen Estivill and Beth Bresset. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, honorary grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, and friends.
