He was predeceased by: his daughter Erica Grout; and his father Charles Grout. He is survived by: his wife Johanne Bonin; his children, Jason Grout (Latoia Haynes) of Methuen, MA and Katelyn Grout (Josh May) of Lyndonville, VT; his mother Janice Halford of Northfield, VT; his sisters, Lori Grout (Frank Baraby) of Montpelier, VT and Lisa Durkee (Rick) of Montpelier, VT; his stepsiblings, Roger Halford of Williamstown, VT, Shawna Clement (Steve) of North Waterboro, ME, Ena Anthony (Mark) of Williamstown, VT and David Halford (Annette) of Barre, VT; his stepmother Joyce Grout of Venice, FL.; and his granddaughter Amelia May of Lyndonville, VT. He is also survived by nephew, nieces, aunts, many cousins.
