He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Velander and Selma Velander (Johnson); and his brother Eric Velander. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Velander of Barre; his children, Lori Velander of Berlin and Larry Velander (Christine) of North Carolina; and his grandsons, Max Allan Velander and Christopher Lackey (Kasey Haskins).
