He was predeceased by: his son Russell; his parents, Thad Austin and Willie Austin; and his siblings, Mary Jo, Kenneth, Jack, John and Tom.
He is survived by: his wife Maxine E. Austin; his children, Kathy Chilton and Michael Austin; his sister Judy Vaillancourt; and his grandchildren, Derek Weichler (Rosie), Austin Weichler, Shelby Rae Williams and Cydney Chilton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
