He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Mitchem; his children, Rusty Mitchem (Sandra) and Mary Gibbs (Kevin); his grandson James Mitchem Angela Smith (Corey); his great grandchildren, Mattie, Hunter, Mason and Avery; his sisters, Lorraine Hollandsworth, Gladys Kemp and Carolyn Watkins; and his sister-in-law June Matthews.
The family request, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in his name to the Lackey Clinic or the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank.
