We are sad to announce that on January 5, 2023, at the age of 90, Regina Emma Shortt of Yorktown, Virginia, born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Donald B. Shortt; her parents, Alex Viel and Rosella Viel; her siblings, Frances Cernuto, Edna Yurasko, Alba Verbano, William Viel and Fred Viel; her children, Donna Shortt and Patrick Shortt; and her granddaughters, Hannah Rising, Danielle Rising and Amber D'Angelo.

She is survived by: her brother Al Viel of Johnstown, PA; her children, Terry Schap (Dean) of Ponchatoula, LA, Krissy Williams (Andy) of Portsmouth, VA, Mark Shortt (Brenda) of Toano, VA and Timmy Shortt (Cindy) of Seaford, VA.; her grandchildren, David Schap (Nicole), Brandi D'Angelo, Heather Mueller (Justin), Beth McIlvain (Daniel), Brittney Adney (Ryan), Ashton Shortt and Patrick Shortt; and her great grandchildren, Taylor Mueller, Camden Mueller, Colton Mueller, Rylie Adney, Ellie McIlvain, Marlee McIlvain, Olivia Schap, Wesley Adney, Reed McIlvain and Leilani Schap.

Memorial donations made in memory of Regina E. Shortt are requested to be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
