It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Raymond Thomas Jernigan Sr. of Yorktown, Virginia, born in Suffolk, Virginia, who passed away on October 22, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Jernigan and Effie May Jernigan; his wife Audrey Harrell Jernigan; his granddaughter Abigail Rose Jernigan; his sister-in-law Barbara Ann Harrell Fanny; his niece Juanita "Nita" Fanny Parker; and his siblings, William, Arthur, Louis "Red", Robert Earl, Nellie and Selena.
He is survived by: his son Raymond T. "Tom" Jernigan, Jr.; his granddaughters, Elise and Ava Jernigan of Yorktown, VA.; his brother-in-law Marvin Lee Fanny, Sr.; and also, Jean H. Harms of Alexandria, JoAnn H. Jones of Ahoskie, NC, Frances Jernigan of Suffolk, VA and Lillie Jernigan of Suffolk, VA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
