We are sad to announce that on February 5, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Joyce MiYong Freeman of Yorktown, Virginia. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Joyce is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Joyce's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her husband Eugene A. Smith; and her former husband William C. Freeman. She is survived by: her children, H. JoAnne Traina and Joseph R. Smith; her children-in-law, Charles J. Traina and Hope Smith; and her grandson Ryan D. Abrams.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home (210 Harpersville Rd, Newport News, VA 23601). A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Hampton Memorial Gardens (155 Butler Farm Rd, Hampton, VA 23666).
In lieu of flowers the family would ask that you make donations to the International Southern Virginia Church (13246 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23602) on her behalf and/or share your favorite memories of her.
