John F. Haywood Jr. Obituary

We are sad to announce that on October 2, 2024, at the age of 79, John F. Haywood Jr. of Yorktown, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though John may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those John touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He is survived by: his wife Charlotte; his sons, Anthony (Keyna), Travis (Ellen), Gerald and Raymond; and his siblings, Kenneth Haywood (Barbara) of Williamsburg, VA and Linda Haywood of Richmond, VA. He is also survived by nephews and nieces; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St John Baptist Church (1397 Penniman Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23185). Viewing was held on Saturday, October 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calvary Community Church (2311 Tower Pl, Hampton, VA 23666). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
