He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Smoot (Buster) and Aldredge Smoot; and his brother LaVerne Smoot. He is survived by: his wife Vivian; and his children, Cynthia Smoot Weller (Bill), Valerie Ruark (Tom), Brian Smoot (Barbie) and Kelly Gdovic (Rick).
