He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Davis and Eva Davis; and his brothers, Benjamin, Edward J. "Buddy" Davis and Joseph E. "Pete" Davis.

He is survived by: his wife Marian Clements Davis; his children, Charles Joshua Davis (Ellen), Joseph Marion Davis (Cheryl) and Rebecca Davis Rose (Robert); and his grandchildren, Mitchell (Heather), William (Astrid), Katelyn, Tess (Brendan), Ned and Zoe. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Crooks Memorial United Methodist Church (204 Cook Rd, Yorktown, VA 23690). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Peninsula Memorial Park (12750 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23606).
