It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol A. Mayes of Yale, Virginia, who passed away on February 21, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Carol A. Mayes to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband Hugh P. Mayes; and her children, Theresa Dolbear and Michael Toone. She is survived by: her daughters, Karen Stemann (Robert) and Sheryl Vaughan. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Shiloh Baptist Church (18310 Halifax Rd, Carson, VA 23830). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Owen Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
