He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathaniel Willis and Margaret Tinder Pendleton; his siblings, Margaret Bowers, Nathaniel Pendleton, Jr., Patty DuPuis and Mann Pendleton; and his niece Jenny Cook.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Leguin Pendleton; his children, Ann Kincer (Mark) of Huntersville, W. Nelson Pendleton, Jr. (Tara) of Manteo, Berkeley Hooks (Joe) of Wytheville and Courtney Pendleton of Wytheville; his grandchildren, Mark, Jr., Gray Kincer, William, III, Jillian, Charleigh Pendleton and Beau Hooks; and his sisters, Elizabeth Geffert of Silver Springs and Jane Cook of Columbia. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews.
