She was predeceased by: her parents, Susie Hargrove and Edward Jenkins; her husband Ahart W. Powers, Sr.; her stepson Raleigh A. Penn; her grandparents, Cora and Andrew Hargrove; her siblings, Corrine Brown, Ruth Williams, William Jenkins, Joseph Jenkins, Carroll Jenkins, Arthur Jenkins and David Terry; and her grandson Garrison Powers.
She is survived by: her son Ahart Powers, Jr. (Lillian) of Atlanta, GA; her grandchildren, Ahart Powers, III (Miki), Derek Powers (Binal) of Buford, GA, Dhylan Powers of Buford, GA and Tomo-Frances Powers; her cousins, Laura Eaton of Henderson, NC and John Earl Hargrove of Henderson, NC; her niece Timi Simpson of Stone Mountain, GA; her close friends, Delores French, Carol Simmons, Yvonne Harris, Judy Raines (Denver), Mary Frances Brammer, Susan Dodson (Ronnie), Josephine Poe (late Ralph) and Keola James; and her grandchildren, Angel James, Shavonya Johnson, Samantha Mitchell (Matt) and Brandi Roberts.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the John Stewart United Methodist Church (102 Jones St, Bluefield, WV 24701). A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A repast was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
