He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie M. Cline and Mildred Crigger Cline; and his siblings, Betty "Tob" Amburn, Virginia "Sissy" Cullop, Jacob "JC" Cline and James Earl "Jim" Cline.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Jean Cline; his daughter Linda; his son-in-law Mark Wheeler of Barren Springs; his son David Rex Cline, Jr. (Kim Fields); his grandson Zach (Amanda Wheeler); his siblings, Shirley Thomas of Speedwell and James Edward "Eddie"; his sister-in-law Bonnie Cline of Wytheville; and his close friends, Randy Phillippi of Wytheville, Hubert and Smith of Wytheville. He is also survived by grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel (215 S 6th St, Wytheville, VA 24382). A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Southwest Virginia Veteran's Cemetery (5550 Bagging Plant Rd, Dublin, VA 24084).
