He was predeceased by: his parents, Otho Phlegar "Preach" Phillips and Margaret Hartsock "Dee" Phillips; his brother Ralph Phillips; and his stepson Robert Crigger. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Crigger Phillips; his brother Randy Phillips of Wytheville; his daughter Renee Phillips of Philadelphia, PA; his stepson Tony Duncan (Gwen) of Wytheville; his stepdaughter-in-law Margaret Crigger of Riner, VA; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Jack Daily, Abbigale Collins (Jacob Collins), Zack Duncan, Alison DePoy (Adam) and Sam Crigger; and his great grandchildren, Wade Collins and Christopher DePoy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West End Church Building Fund, or Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
