We are sad to announce that on February 3, 2025, at the age of 90, Carl Edmund Ayers of Wytheville, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar F. Ayers, Sr. and Lessie I. Viars Ayers; and his siblings, John, Ed, Madeline Ayers Viars, Mary Lee Ayers (Nancy) and Frances Lea Ayers.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Coleman Ayers; his son Jeff (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Jessica, Hannah, Joshua and Matthew; his brother Gary Ayers (Nita); his siblings-in-law, Elizabeth Ayers, Shelby Spraker (Roy Dean) and Harold Coleman (Sue); and his grandchildren, Andrew, Kylie, Weston and Thad Stoots.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Grubb Funeral Home (215 S 6th St, Wytheville, VA 24382). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Community Church (110 Dungeon Spring Rd, Wytheville, VA 24382).
