He is survived by: his daughter Amanda Jo Pickett of Wytheville, Virginia; his siblings, Nancy Hawks of Fries, Virginia and Frank Pickett of Pulaski, Virginia; and his close friend Victor Bonham. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
