She was predeceased by: her parents, Stewart Roosevelt Akers and Ruth "Burnett" Akers; her son Filemon Russell Arnold; and her siblings, Ina Felts, Myrtle Akers, J. C. Akers, Sonny Akers, Elwood Akers and Willard Akers.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Shammra Estep (Larry Estep, Jr.) of Stafford, VA, Tracy Rasnake of Wytheville, VA and Leon Rasnake of Piney Flats, TN; her great grandchild Isaiah Gregory of Wytheville, VA; and her brother Larry Akers. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
