It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Velda Mae Boyd Smart (Woolwine, Virginia), who passed away on September 13, 2018, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former husbands, George Everett Boyd and Leon Smart; her grandson David Neal Boyd; her stepdaughter Sandra Spangler; and her brothers, John Belcher, Leonard Belcher and Delmer Belcher.

She is survived by: her sons, Rodney Leon Boyd (Mary) of Bassett and Gerald Everett Boyd (Mandy) of Woolwine; her stepchildren, Pamela S. Young of Ararat, Michael Leon Smart of Kernersville and Kimberly Dione Smart of Martinsville; and her siblings, Stella Conner of Woolwine, Mary Conner of Fieldale, Evadell Clark of Fieldale and Maynard Belcher of Stuart. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
