He is survived by: his wife Ann Mabe Farthing of Woodlawn, Virginia; his daughter Sarah Jean Farthing of Woodlawn, Virginia; his sisters, Sharon Harbin of Vilas and Diane; his brother-in-law Terry Beach of Boone; his nieces, Renee Gibson, Stephanie Beach and Meredith Speight; and his pet Sophie.
