He is survived by: his wife Carrie Byrd Blevins of Woodlawn, Virginia; his sons, Stanley Blevins of Roanoke, Mark Higgins of Trinity, James (Valerie Blevins) and Robert (Kimberly Blevins); and his stepdaughter Carol Hamm of Mt. Airy. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
