He was predeceased by: his father James Gardner; and his brother Ralph Gardner. He is survived by: his son Jake Gardner; his sister Darlene Gardner; his nephews, Travis Bunn, James Felts and Tyler Felts (Teila); his great-nephew Braxton McCoy Felts; and his close friend Shelby Choate.
