She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbur Barnett and Odessa Hawks Payne; her son Dennis Cooley; and her brother Carlos "C. L." Payne. She is survived by: her husband Ron Wright of Woodlawn, Virginia; her daughter Lisa; her son-in-law Robert "Bobby" Moody of Myrtle Beach; her sons, Scott (Kelly Cooley) and John Mark (Miranda Cooley); her grandchildren, Lane Cooley (Jamie Smith), Lexi Cooley, Emma Moody, Ryleigh Kantorik, Colston Wright, Hadleigh Strain and Andrew Strain; her brothers, Harold "H. K." Payne and Joel "Dean" (Norma Payne); her niece Tammy Meadows; her nephew David Payne; and her friend Sharon "Adean" Swain.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations in memory of Kathy be made to Willing Partners or Pipers Gap Rescue Squad.
