Jerry Nelson Sowers Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry Nelson Sowers of Woodlawn, Virginia, who passed away on April 12, 2021, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Sena Sowers (Worrell), Lester and Queenie Chaney (Clark). He is survived by: his parents, Nelson Sowers and Hortense Sowers (Chaney) of Stuart, VA.; his son Caleb Nelson Sowers of Woodlawn, VA; his siblings, Carl Dale Sowers (Penny) of Hillsville and Anita Sowers (Brian) of Martinsville, VA; his nieces, Victoria Sowers of Sandford, NC and Sara Hall of Hillsville, VA; his brother-in-law Steve Hall (Shelia) of Hillsville, VA; his cousins, David Chaney of Stuart, VA and Tim Chaney (Sherri) of Roanoke, VA.; and also Melissa Sowers of Elk Creek, VA. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1477 Carrollton Pike, Hillsville, VA 24343 or to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
