He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce H. Mathews; and his daughter Randi L. Dearstyne. He is survived by: his brothers, Millard (Jan Mathews) and Larry (Marylou Mathews); his children, David C. Mathews II, Pattie (Drew Mears), Ronnie Dearstyne, Alex Dearstyne, Shari (Alan Schwartz) and Larry Francis; his grandchildren, Daniel, Victoria, Katherine, Jacob, Kortnee, Rachel, Joshua, Tayler, Logan and Andrew; and his great grandchildren, Ava and Everly.
