She is survived by: her husband Michael Christopher Carpenter; her parents, Nathan Brown (Thelma) and Delores Brown; her parents-in-law, Robert and Barbara Carpenter; her sons, Duante Brown, Michael A. Carpenter (Shammi) and Christopher Carpenter; her siblings, Sheena Parker, Marilyn Terrell, Zelda Fields (James), Pam Carpenter, Gregory Stewart and Derrick Carpenter (Kym); and her grandchildren, Ky'mani, Azai, Monroe, Akeem and Kiyomi. She is also survived by friends who became "sisters and brothers", a bonus mother, "Momma P", a childhood friend, cousin.
