It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Herman Lewis of Woodford, Virginia, who passed away on January 29, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Napoleon "Jake" Lewis and Gladys Lewis; his siblings, Eddie, Leonard, Joe Lewis, Rosa Lewis and Mary "Teenie" Morris; and his grandson Andre Ellis.
He is survived by: his wife Rev. Ocellia Lewis; his children, Cathy Parker (Quinton), Penny Scott (Robert), Rev. Angelia Lewis, Karen Clemons and Gairard Lewis; his great grandchildren, Jasmyne and Jai'den Lewis; his grandchildren, Kaiyonnah Hawkins, Darrius Lewis, DeAngelo Lewis, Elexis Clemons and Gairard Hawkins; his siblings, Bernard Lewis (Helen), Charles Lewis of Woodford, VA, Beatrice Lewis of Woodford, VA and Emma Christopher of Fredericksburg, VA; his mother-in-law Carrie Baker of Woodford, VA; and his siblings-in-law, Rosa Marie of Baltimore, MD, Arterita Brown (Joseph, Sr.), Charity Baker-Dean of Woodford, VA, James E. Morris, Jr. of Spotsylvania, VA, Walter Baker, Sr. (Gloria) of Woodford, VA, Ervin Baker (Carlene) of Woodford, VA, Profit Baker (Rita) of Washington, DC. and Joseph Coleman of Fredericksburg. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
