He was predeceased by: his parents, James Roy Hicks and Ona Lambert Hicks; his brothers, Jimmy E. Hicks, Darrel Grey Hicks, Roy Wallace "Tucker" Hicks, John Marvin Hicks, Ira Dean Hicks and Elmer Harold "Sap" Hicks; and his nephews, Jimmy Marshal Hicks and Darrel Hicks, Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Karen Hicks; his daughter Gillian Gage; his granddaughters, Marie Hicks and Alyssa Gage; and his siblings, Jerry Hicks, Sue Cornett and Barbara Large. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
