He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Wesley Pontious and Gladys Margaret Pontious (Knowles); and his siblings, Carolyn Ann Pontious Reed and Gregory Wallace Pontious. He is survived by: his daughters, Annick Marie Pontious Jenkins of Front Royal and Lauri Ellen Pontious Doss of Woodbridge, Virginia; his sister Nannette Sue Pontious Kershow; his grandchildren, Jessica Marie Pontious, Madison Marie Jenkins and Ryan Thomas Jenkins; and his great grandchild Makari Joseph Robinson.
