He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick "Fred" and Linda Compton Chewning; his sister Doris "Dottie" Chewning; and his nephew Scott Hudson. He is survived by: his wife Janet Seekford Chewning; his sons, Craig Chewning (Georgia) and Michael Chewning (Colleen Botkin); his grandchildren, Brandy-Leigh Chewning Preece (Mitch), Dina Worley Moore (Mike), Tony Chewning (Jennifer) and Courtney Chewning Dunkle (Kyle); his great grandchildren, Blake, Brock, Bryce, Blaine Moore, Landon, Taylor, Aden, Brad Chewning, Alex, Charlie Preece and Dunkle; and his nephew Chris Hudson (Donna).
