He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Franklin and Louise M. Powers; and his son Alfonso "Skip" Powers. He is survived by: his wife Doris Moore Powers; his daughter-in-law Anne Crenshaw; his son Gregory Powers (Edna); his grandchildren, Julian and Jillian Powers; his great grandchild Stephanie Pegues (Joseph); and also, Gabriel and Zara Pegues. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
