We are sad to announce that on November 11, 2024, Donald Edward Lawson Jr. of Wise, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Donald Edward farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Donald Edward is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Lawson and Peggy Lawson; and his brother Billy Wayne Lawson. He is survived by: his brother Randy B. Lawson (Lisa); his nephews, Billy W. Lawson (Jenna) of St. Augustine, FL and Brian Lawson (Susan) of Boca Raton, FL; and his niece Brooke Lawson Barnette (Josh) of Wise. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sturgill Funeral Home (1621 Norton Rd SW, Wise, VA 24293). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A procession was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens (5650 Powell Valley Rd, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219).
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions to be made to Wise Fire Department, P.O. Box 428 Wise, VA 24293.
