He was predeceased by: his son Christopher Michael Stanley; his parents, Oakley Stanley and Pauline Cox Stanley; his siblings, Janice Calhoun, Rhonda Clark and Errin Walker Stanley; and his father-in-law Curtis Breeding.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Breeding Stanley; his children, Gina Wheatley (Greg) of Lebanon, VA, Candi Fields (Kevin) of Whitesburg, KY and James Darrell Stanley of Wise, VA; his mother-in-law Helen Breeding; and his siblings, Robert Stanley (Jean), Harold Stanley (Patti), Doug Stanley (Thelma), Randy Stanley, Donald Stanley (Delilah), Barbara Jones (Jerry), Markeda Wampler (John), Donna Sloce (J. M.) and Dedria Hall (Steve). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
