He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley; his daughter Suzanne; his parents, Clinton Elkins and Hattie Jane Elkins; his stepmother Zelma Elkins; and his siblings, Estel Elkins, Aldon Elkins, Arvel Elkins, Silas Elkins, Earl Elkins, Harry Elkins, Margaret Wilson, Nina Colleen Bevins and Nancy Jane Dalton.
He is survived by: his daughter Hattie Jane; his son-in-law Kevin Kilgore; his brothers, Claude E. Elkins (Carrol) and Paul J. "Jake" Elkins (Linda); and his sister-in-law Betty Elkins. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mary's Chapel Church or to the Gideons Bible Fund.
