She was predeceased by: her parents, Zackery Copeland and Maggie Rawls Copeland; her husband Joseph "Papajoe" Liggins; her son Joseph "Huss" Liggins, Jr.; her grandson Charles Benton; and her siblings, Margie Copeland, Rosetta Cotton, Edna Hicks, Zella Mae Stevenson, Willie Essie Eley, Zack Jr., Andrew, Byrant, Dorpha, Floyd and Raymond.
She is survived by: her grandson Cory Liggins (Tanya) of Virginia Beach; her adoptive daughters, Rosie McCall (Andy) of Pflugerville, Julia Simmons, Sr. (Larry) of Zuni, VA. and Audrey Simmons of Smithfield, VA; and her nephew Whitman Hicks, Jr.. She is also survived by sixteen grand Children, thirty-two great grand children and two great great grandchildren.
