He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney C. Newsome, Sr. and Helen Burgess Newsome; his wife Rose Garner Newsome; and his sisters, Romine Rita Newsome and Jean Newsome McWilliams.
He is survived by: his sons, Sidney Michael "Mike" Newsome (Katrice) and Kenneth Callie "Kenny" Newsome (Allison); and his grandchildren, Christian Newsome, Landon Newsome, Harper Newsome, Jonathan Newsome and Atticus Newsome.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Oasis Learning Center, 5 Roberts Ave. Suite B, Windsor, VA 23487 or Isle of Wight Academy, 17111 Courthouse Hwy, Isle of Wight, VA 23397.
