He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Thelma Lassiter and Raby Rufus Mays; his wife Patricia Howell Mays; and his brother Clarence Mays. He is survived by: his children, Timothy R. Mays (Nicole) and Stephanie Deemer (Kevin); his granddaughter Abigal Deemer; his siblings, David Mays (Susan), Robert Mays and Lori Burfield (Al); his sister-in-law Phyllis Mays; and his stepchildren, Stephen Layne (Eileen), Philip Layne (Sandra), Jimmy Layne, David Layne, Virginia Gay Houser and Twila Depasquale.
