He was predeceased by: his father Robert Bowers; his son Keith Lee Bowers; his brother John; his sister-in-law Nancy Bowers; and his stepfathers, Donald Steadman (Rosie) and Herbert Faulkner.

He is survived by: his wife Pauline Preston Bowers; his sons, Carl Bowers (Yuen) of Windsor, VA, Earl Bowers of Kingston, RI and Duane Bowers (Debbie) of Hampton, VA; and his siblings, Jackie Empson (Wayne) of Addison, NY and Jerry Steadman (Kelly) of New Holland Pike, PA. He is also survived by 4 granddaughters, 6 great-grandchildren.
