He was predeceased by: his parents, Henderson Davis and Sallie Bailey Batten; his wife Alice Bailey; and his siblings, Thelma Daye, Laura Batten, Ruby Wiggins, Ernestine Batten, Delma Edwards, Louise Batten, James Garfield Bailey, Phillip Bailey and Matthew Batten.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Green (Walter) and Ursula Sutton; his brother Calvin Batten (Germaine); his brother-in-law Milton Wiggins; his friend Virginia Booker; and his close friends, Tommy Goddett (Marie) and Sam Herrings (Marie). He is also survived by four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one goddaughter, and a host of nieces and nephews.
